THE SPRINT CAREER COACHING ACADEMY

Sprint are delighted to announce the launch of the Sprint Career Coaching Academy; unique in offering participants an opportunity to learn a wide range of modern career coaching techniques and exercises within a workshop setting.

Developed by our most experienced Career Coaches and Training Specialists this practical 3 day training course is aimed at:

  • Individuals wishing to enter the field of Career Coaching and looking to gain a practical and extensive "career toolbox" of exercises, inventories and assessments, a clear coaching framework, and state of the art online resources to support their work.
  • Experienced Executive and Life Coaches looking to expand their knowledge within the career field, and seeking new methods and exercises to add to their current portfolio.
  • Internal HR, Training, Learning and Development, Organisational and Management staff seeking to gain new skills in order to support their staff during restructure or through outplacement delivery.
  • Organisations with a positive policy of staff career development, looking to integrate new methods, and a clear career management framework into the company.


THE CAREER COACHING TRAINING COURSE

Run UK wide at regional training venues, in our Midlands based training centre, or in-house at an organisations' own premises, this 3 day course covers all the elements needed to successfully deliver an effective career coaching programme, whether it be to an individual client, or in a group workshop setting.

The course can also be successfully tailored to meet an organisation's specific need, on request.


COURSE FRAMEWORK

COURSE BENEFITS

Stage 1 - Client / Coach Relationship

  • Gain a better understanding of the relationship between Career Coach and Client
  • Ensure as a Career Coach you comply with ethics, code of practice, confidentiality and a duty of care.
  • Appreciate the emotional challenges and change curve facing Clients during career transition.
  • Learn and understand varied coaching models such as GROW and OSCAR and how these fit the Career Coaching Model.
  • Build an appreciation of empathy, empowerment, reflection, facilitation, inspiration, expectation and encouragement.

Stage 2 - Client Personal Career Assessment

  • Assisting you in evaluating your Client's career, and deciding on the best coaching style and methodology to move forward and meet their needs.
  • Helping Clients to answer the questions: Where am I now? Where do I want to be? What difficulties do I face? What obstacles do I have to overcome? What are my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats? What do I know about a career campaign? What personality traits do I have that can assist me in meeting my objectives?
  • Formulating a career coaching action plan that supports these aims and goals.

Stage 3 - Client Self Assessment

  • Understanding how to help the Client "self assess", with a wide diversity of career and self assessment tools, exercises and inventories.
  • Helping Clients to answer the questions: What do I value most about work? What type of people and work environment do I find most interesting? What skills am I most motivated to use? What type of intelligence do I prefer? What are my social styles? What are my career preferences based on my talents, motives and attitude? What culture and company ethos do I prefer to work within?

Stage 4 - Client Skills Assessment

  • Helping you to assess a Client's key skills, strengths, abilities, and unique knowledge and how to present these in the modern job world.
  • Helping Clients to answer the questions: What are my hard, soft and transferable skills? What knowledge and abilities do I have? What work experience do I have? What do I know about my target sectors? Are my aims achievable in the real world? Do I have enough self belief? What external factors may affect me achieving my goals? Where am I lacking in my career campaign skills?

Stage 5 - Client Action Phase

  • Learning how to assist the Client in conducting a successful career campaign.
  • Helping Clients to answer the questions: How do I plan and run a successful career campaign? What do I need to learn about the job search mechanics? How do I develop a "personal brand" and effective CV? How do I excel during all types of interview? How do I assess job offers to ensure they meet my goals?
  • Building a lifelong "career development" plan for your Client.

Stage 6 - Coach Practice Sessions

  • Practicing the skills of career coaching in a workshop environment.
  • Apply the Career Coaching Model across a real life setting.
  • Select from the "career toolbox" of exercises, inventories and assessments whilst building a staged framework of individual coaching support.
  • Receive individual feedback and evaluation from experienced Career Coaches.

Stage 7 - Coach Workshop Delivery

  • Learning how to run a successful Career Coaching Workshop.
  • Gaining assistance in structuring a 1 day training course covering all the elements of Client personal assessment, CV development, modern job search techniques, interview skills and action planning.
  • Understand the range of career tools, exercises and inventories that work best in a group setting.

Stage 8 - Course Summary and Coach Action Plan

  • Summarising the whole training course and setting your own personal development and coaching plan.
  • How to use your knowledge within both organisational career development, career coaching or outplacement environments.
  • Tips on how to further develop your new skills and build your coaching portfolio.

COURSE ATTENDEES ALSO BENEFIT FROM:

  • Access to the Sprint Online Career Resource Centre for a nominal fee of £10 per month, if required. This resource is invaluable in supporting your career coaching work, with 6 career based psychometric tests you can use with your Clients, and a whole library of career information, advice and guidance, alongside a state of the art job search functionality. Client access is also charged at £10 per month.
  • A detailed career workbook and manual, covering each area of the workshop; the exercises, inventories and assessment guidelines and validity, coaching guidelines and overview of the whole course in depth.
  • The Sprint career "toolbox" of inventories, exercises and assessments, in a licenced CD format, free to use whenever needed.
  • Further tips and advice post course by phone from experienced Career Coaches when required.
  • The potential to work with Sprint, within an Associate Career Coach role, during major outplacement and career coaching projects.

Overnight accommodation is not included, although we can arrange this if required.

Participants attending the Sprint Career Coaching Academy Workshop receive Sprint certification to use our exercises, inventories, assessments and resource centre as a Sprint Licenced Career Coach. This certification ensures we can guarantee the quality and consistency of the career coaching delivered, and therefore a select number of individuals may also be given the opportunity to work for Sprint as an Associate Career Coach on these larger projects.
